Steam beta update gives a much-needed refresh to an essential page

Valve has launched a new steam beta, and this one is a big one. Changelog is rather short, but some major changes come to the download page in particular. In addition, we also saw some updates for the library, some updates for the Steam Linux version, and finally, a few tweaks for steamvr. However, the biggest change is found on the download page.

It feels like it’s been a long time since the download page received some love, but it must have changed with this beta update. Valve said the page has been redesigned with “minimal design and more focused with stronger CTA (call to act).” The art header will now show you which game is currently being updated, and the valve says it has implemented a “more accessible color palette” for visually disturbed users. You can see the screenshot the new download page below.

One of the biggest changes that comes to the download page is the changed progress bar. Previously, the progress bar would only display the progress of the download, which meant that the download was often hung at 100% during the disk allocation process, cheating users to think there were several problems with updates. Now the download progress will show the total development, so we should not have an instance where the update appears complete but, in fact, no.

Going Hand-in-Hand with a new download page is a library storage manager that can be accessed by pressing the setting wheel on the download page and then selecting the “Steam Library folder.” This new storage manager will allow you to see all the steam games that you have installed on your various drives, giving you to see how much game space and DLC are taken on each drive and allow you to move the game between your drive if you have it more than one. It seems like a very practical tool, especially for users who have more games than space.

We have spent all articles that see changes that come to the download page because they are the most significant so far, but Linux users and STEAMVR users also want to examine fillings for updates that apply to them. If you want to choose the beta client steam, first open the steam menu, enter the settings, select “account,” and then submit to the steam client beta on the setting page; After you restart Steam, you will see all changes. We will notify you when these features are launched to everyone, so stay here for more.
