Ubisoft has revealed the next limited time event for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and it can make your taste for Rainbow Six Extraction. This detention event displays a new game mode called the nest destruction, where you will try to destroy or maintain alien nests on the revamped version of the map of the consulate.
The attackers played as a reaction agent team assigned to destroy the nest. They will immediately oppose “a protean team, a deadly Archæan variant that can adopt the form of reaction operator,” Ubisoft said. These creatures can mimic operator behavior and they will move quickly, but they can only use close-range attacks, such as Aruni Punch and Special ORYX capabilities. The attacker team can only use standard loadout without modifier, and there is a limited operator list. Along with successfully destroying or maintaining a nest, the team can win by destroying their opponents.
The event sounded interesting, but it was a little strange. This mode was inspired by the R6 extraction, which should arrive in September. Last month, Ubisoft pushed back the release date until January. However, the nest destruction might give you the sense of the next game at Rainbow Six Series.
The detention event will be available from August 3 to August 24. Between August 13 and 15, R6 Siege will be free to play, so anyone can jump and examine the event. Ubisoft will give points passing a double bonus battle during the weekend.
