GM announces a third electrical collection after Hummer and Silverado EVS

GM is working on another electric truck, in addition to the EV Hummer of GMC and the electrified Silverado Chevrolet, was confirmed in April. The automotive giant has made the announcement at a media event, according to CNBC and CNET ROADSHOW. He did not reveal many details about the project and only showed a somber image of a canvas covered truck during the presentation, but said it would be a full-size GMC collection.

In addition, CNBC says that it is expected to be a more “traditional” collection than the EV Hummer, which is a “lifestyle” vehicle. That could mean that it is something with a price available to more people than the Hummer, although the head of GMC Global Duncan, reported, refused to admit if it is the electrified version of the Sierra Collection.

General Motors has promised more and more money in efforts to go electric and without driver. The automaker originally planned to pour $ 20 billion in the effort, but announced that it would raise its investment from 2020 to 2025 to $ 35 billion, only this April. GM plans to offer 30 EV in the market at the end of 2025 and to sell exclusively electric vehicles from 2035.

The Hummer EV is scheduled to enter production this autumn and it would be one of the first electric pills that people can buy. However, with prices that start around $ 80,000, however, it is not exactly a direct competitor for other nearby electrical trucks. The Tesla Ray F-150 and Ford F-150 Ray will cost approximately half of that, and this mysterious third electric truck could be more competition for them.
